Public speaking is a true art form! It takes true heart
and commitment to be successful. That is why I love to
share public speaking tools and strategies that will help
you shine!

The Psychotherapist Couch

What would you do if an audience question was going WAY OFF track? Maybe the person has mistaken you for a therapist!

Whether it is a person who has mistaken your for their therapist
or they have a desire to take over your presentation, you
need to maintain absolute control and composure. You must
handle them with “assertive” kindness.

Rude and Argumentative

When a speaker comes across as rude and argumentative to
any audience member, they will lose respect from the whole
audience.

Monopolizing a Presentation

Or if they let the person monopolize the presentation, the
audience will look at the presenter as if they are weak and
ineffective. There is a big difference between maintaining
the authority figure role and appearing belligerent or weak.

The Art of Proving the Right Response

Your audience is watching for your response. There is an art
to handling it appropriately.

I have a very clear opinion on this.

It doesn’t serve anyone by belittling an audience member. It
makes the speaker look bad in front of the entire audience.
Plus, the person who is the most disruptive may be someone
who really needs their expert help.

Remember to stay in total control by being assertive and kind at the same time.
