How to Create a Presentation That Sells By Using These 3 Key Presentation Elements

#1 Grab Their Attention Opening

The first one in how to create a presentation is you want to grab their attention opening.

Yep. You want to pull your audience in. You want to get them to pay attention to you.  You don’t want to say “Good morning. How is everybody today?” Or “How yawl do?”

It isn’t going to grab their attention.

Use a Quote or Statistic

An easy principle that you can use for an opening is to start with a quote or a statistic.

Now, keep it simple. Don’t make it too complicated because you won’t remember the quote or statistic or you might not remember it, and it’s going to be harder for the audience to follow. Keep it simple.

For example, let’s use this statistic. It’s not a real statistic. I’ve not been able to find it, but many people believe that public speaking is the number one fear that people have. If I begin my presentation with “Public speaking is the number one fear that people have.” it is easy to remember and becomes a great opening.  People can relate, and they will think “Oh yeah, that’s me.” Make the quote or statistic short and concise. And you can say who the quote or statistic came from as well.


#2 Compelling Presentation Middle

The next thing you want to do in how to create a presentation is to have a compelling middle of your presentation.

You want to be able to keep the audience’s attention on you, right? You need to captivate them. A great way to do that is to use audience engagement.

Audience Engagement

Audience engagement is where the actual audiences are applying principles with you, so maybe they’re writing things down. Maybe they’re sharing things with you and the other audience members. That’s a great way to keep your audience focused on you because you never want your audience checking out on you.

“I cannot stop listening.”

You don’t want your audience reading their cell phones. You want them focused on you. People will often say to me, “AmondaRose, when you speak, I just can’t stop listening to you.” I’ve heard that over and over again, and that includes three-day speaker training like my Empowered Speaker Event. They literally tell me “I couldn’t stop listening. It was so amazing.” That’s what compelling content and message will do.

#3 Compelling Closing

The next thing you want to do in how to create a presentation is you want to make sure you were you close with a compelling closing.

So the closing needs to have something that said the audience, okay, you got to take this action step or this is going to happen, and not saying in a salesy, pushy, aggressive way, but really from the heart.

Make Them Taking Action Steps

In the presentation closing, you may want them to take the action steps based on the principles of the presentation that you shared with them. Maybe you want them to purchase your product or service, and your closing is related to that. Make sure your closing is clear.

Another Quote or Statistic

A great way to end your presentation is to end with another quote or a statistic.  It must relate to your presentation topic and needs to come from someone who is well known like Martin Luther King or Tony Robbins or anyone else that is well known.  That’s an important part. It’s got to be from someone or a company that is well known.

This will allow you to end the presentation with some kind of super motivation impactful and keep them going. It will ensure that they remember how amazing you are and how much they loved you.
