First, you must have a passion for making a difference in the lives of others. If your making a difference desire is strong enough, nothing will stop you from reaching your goal, including fear, people and failures.

But desire is not enough; you also need the other Ds too.




No matter what your speaking goals are, you must make a decision that you are going to make every effort, overcome any obstacle, and do whatever it takes to achieve your biggest speaking goals.

Lots of people talk about what they want, but how many have actually made a decision that nothing will stop them — aka Unstoppable. 




You must be dedicated to planning, preparing, practicing and delivering talks and presentations repeatedly until you succeed. And this is true for booking speaking engagements because you have to have the dedication to find them too!

Lots of folks will say I want to book speaking engagements, but do they actually dedicate focused time each week to make this happen?  Most don’t and that is why some get booked and most don’t. 




Finally, you must persist and persevere despite any short-term setback, obstacle, mistake, negative opinion or embarrassment you may experience in the past and in the future.  You are going to make mistakes so learn and grow for them, instead of letting them take you out.
